Inclement Weather and Emergency Closure Procedures

    In the event of hazardous or emergency conditions, all district schools or selected schools or grade levels may be closed or schedules altered to provide delayed openings of school and/or early dismissal of students, as appropriate.


    Superintendent will consult with the transportation company.  The District will post the information on-line using FlashAlert ( ).  You will see the posted information on these stations/sites:

    KOIN &

    KPTV &

    School Messenger will do a call out to District students if there is a school closure, 2 Hour Delay, or if buses will be on snow routes.  Call out times may vary.



    Condition I:   Schools closed.  Only Head Custodians report.

    Condition II:  Schools open two hours late. *Busses on snow routes.  No breakfast served.

    Emergency lunch meal will be served.  Staff report two hours after their regularly scheduled start time (i.e., if your start time is normally 7:30 a.m. you will report at 9:30 a.m.)

    Condition III: Schools open regular time. *Busses on snow routes.


    Bussing Information:

    Check your television, radio, or for announcements concerning transportation. 


    If busses are on SNOW ROUTES, the following roads are affected:

    • No bus transportation on Thompson Mill, Upper Gopher Valley Roads or Grauer Roads.  Bus #3 will pick up students at the corner of Gopher Valley and Thompson Mill intersection at approximately 7:15 a.m., Smithville and Gopher Valley at 7:22 am, and Wiley and Gopher Valley at 7:25.
    • No bus transportation on Upper Cherry Hill Road.  Bus #2 will pick up at Selby Ln and Cherry Hill at 7:44 am.
    • No bus transportation on Canyon Road, Gutbrod or North Evans.  Bus #1 will pick up Bus #3 WILL DROP OFF students at the corner of Evans & Blair at approximately 7:27 a.m.
    • No bus transportation on Red Prairie and Harmony.  Bus #5 will pick up students at the corner of Savage Rd and Mill St at approximately 7:10 am.
