Sheridan Education Foundation

The mission of the Sheridan Education Foundation is to support educational excellence and promote community engagement throughout the Sheridan School District.

The mission of the Enrichment Grant Program is to foster innovative classroom activities and engage students in lifelong learning experiences.

Grant Criteria: Eligibility for a grant from the SEF requires that you must be an educator (K to 12) in the Sheridan School District. If awarded a grant, recipients must use the grant to implement the enrichment activities described in the application.

Grant applications will be reviewed by the Sheridan Education Foundation board during regular monthly meetings, as received throughout the academic year, and awarded on a first-come-first-served basis. Grant applications will be funded based on fund availability and the description of the enrichment activity, its purpose, student learning goal(s) and budget.

The Sheridan Education Foundation supports seniors graduating from Sheridan High School each year through the management of various scholarship funds:

Keegan Smith Memorial Scholarship

The Keegan Smith Memorial Scholarship is a community-funded award given annually to up to two graduating seniors from Sheridan High School. It was created in memory of Sheridan student Keegan Smith, and supported through local fundraising events — including the Keegan Smith Memorial Basketball game.

The award honors Smith’s legacy by helping local students with the financial costs associated with the transition from high school to college or career training. Recipients are selected based on criteria set by the scholarship committee, with awards presented each spring.

AJ Grauer Scholarship

The AJ Grauer Scholarship Fund will support a graduate from Sheridan High School who is planning to study Education, and honors AJ Grauer’s life-long commitment to educating future leaders.

To support a Scholarship Fund managed through Sheridan Education Foundation, please see the “Donate” section on this page.

Seniors graduating from Sheridan High School each year must complete a “Senior Project” that includes a minimum of 30 hours of their time to complete, with additional class time spent on research and their final presentation.

In some cases these community-oriented projects may involve fundraising for a specific, pre-approved cause. In those instances, Sheridan Education Foundation will serve as a fiscal agent for the processing and management of these donations.

To support a current Senior Project, please see the “Donate” section on this page.

Sheridan Education Foundation serves as the fiscal agent for gifts to the Barbara Roberts Career Technical Education Training Center.

Information on the Barbara Roberts CTEC project and associated classes can be found on the Barbara Roberts CTEC website.

To support the Barbara Roberts CTEC project, please see the “Donations” section on this page.
